This is my 2D Shooter Project for the Game Design and Development Course.

Modifications:

  1. Introduced 2 new powerups. The art for space stations provided by the course was used:
    1. Large Projectile Powerup - Increases projectile size
    2. Double Projectile Powerup - Fires 2 projectiles instead of 1
  2. Introduced a new obstacle, black holes. The art for black holes provided by the course was used. Black holes work such that if a player is near a black hole, they will be slowly pulled towards its center.
  3. Created 3 comprehensive levels with clear progression and introduction of game mechanics
    1. Level 1 - Introductory level, introduces the stationary enemies and basic mechanics of the game
    2. Level 2 - Introduces the powerups available in the game, increases the number of enemies to be defeated
    3. Level 3 - Introduces chaser enemies, as well as black hole obstacles on the map.
