Solar Shooter
This is my 2D Shooter Project for the Game Design and Development Course.
Modifications:
- Introduced 2 new powerups. The art for space stations provided by the course was used:
- Large Projectile Powerup - Increases projectile size
- Double Projectile Powerup - Fires 2 projectiles instead of 1
- Introduced a new obstacle, black holes. The art for black holes provided by the course was used. Black holes work such that if a player is near a black hole, they will be slowly pulled towards its center.
- Created 3 comprehensive levels with clear progression and introduction of game mechanics
- Level 1 - Introductory level, introduces the stationary enemies and basic mechanics of the game
- Level 2 - Introduces the powerups available in the game, increases the number of enemies to be defeated
- Level 3 - Introduces chaser enemies, as well as black hole obstacles on the map.
